About Me

My photo
Janine
I am a wife, mother of three, sister, daughter, friend, homemaker, sunday school teacher, and dogowner. Since becoming a christian when I was 17, I have sought to honor God with my life, learn more about Him, challenge others to consider what they believe, and inspire other believers to a greater faith in Jesus Christ.

My Reason

During Jesus Christ's ministry on earth, he made it very clear to his followers that his road was not an easy one. His disciples would risk persecution, ridicule, loneliness, sorrow, and pain. This risk remains for modern day disciples, and the closer we align our lives with his instructions, the more likely we are to face trials at the hands of others. The apostles faced torture and persecution in the 1st century Roman Empire. Today, people across the world fight for their right to worship the Lord and risk imprisonment and death for it. Fortunately, in suburban Ohio, it is not likely that I will face anything close to that. Rather, I face the risk of being called odd, weird, close-minded, or intolerant. The older I get, the longer I follow Jesus, and the more I read the Bible, the more odd I become.

Of course, the benefits of living a Christ-centered life remain today as well, and I can attest that the lasting peace, unhindered hope, and unconditional love I receive far outweighs these risks. I hope to encourage people to open their heart to Him, and choose to live life in a way that transcends all understanding and experience true freedom from the slavery this world offers.
